The following are three technology demos by 3dfx, demonstrating the various effects possible with its T-Buffer technology. Each will lead you to individual pages with download links. Click on each image.
NOTE : YOU WILL NEED A VOODOO5 5500 TO VIEW AND APPRECIATE THE VARIOUS T-BUFFER EFFECTS *CORRECTLY AND AS INTENDED BY 3DFX*
KittyHawk mainly shows the difference 3dfx’s Rotated Grid Super-Sampling Anti-Aliasing has on fine lines.
Museum proposes to show the roles 3dfx’s Rotated Grid Super-Sampling Anti-Aliasing and Soft Reflectance play in helping to achieve “cinematic” image quality.
RocketBurger proposes to illustrate three T-Buffer effects at the same time – Rotated-Grid Super-Sampling Anti-Aliasing, Motion Blur and Depth-Of-Field.
They all look pretty cool to me and I sure hope future NVIDIA hardware will feature some, if not all, of the above technologies! And, most importantly, that game developers use any or all of the tech in the future.
NOTE TO WEBMASTERS
